Tea for Two

I recently celebrated my 30th birthday. I made it this far despite my training which is an achievement in itself, really.
Another achievement is one that my parents have made. That is; creating my wonderful, lovely, amazing, generous, thoughtful brother - who made my birthday weekend SO special!
He took me for a hopefully-not-a-once-in-a-lifetime-experience to the Landmark Hotel for Afternoon Tea in the Winter Garden restaurant.
The above is a picture of the view I enjoyed from my comfortable armchair seat. Luckily; Ian suggested I wear a dress, so I didn't clash with the luxury of my surroundings too much! (Emerald Green linen wrap dress from Sisley - baby!)
Ian and I decided to try a different Afternoon Tea (most people shared one... *cough*). As you can see from the menu's below - they both look impossible to choose between!

It will surprise one and all to know that I chose the Summer Afternoon Tea (with a glass of Rose`) and not the Chocolate one, but the idea of Pimms jelly intrigued me!
BUT - the most amazing discovery of the day was that of Lapsong Souchong tea... Their selection to tea's below didn't warrant a glance for this coffee addict as I ordered an Americano. BIG MISTAKE!!! I sipped some of Ian's Lapsong and fell immediately in love with the subtle, smokey, whisky-like aroma and the pleasant aromatic taste. Lesson learned: Always listen to your big brother (unless you don't want to...)
My weekend was filled with lots of other treat's and surprises - and I was grateful to everyone who was able to join me in celebrating my big day. I look forward, however, to sipping bubbly with my pals and gals in December for round two.
I miss you all too, too much.
Love,
xx
