The Million Dollar Quartet

This weekend - I had the pleasure of taking my daddy, #1 and his gal to the best show EVER!*
To summarise; the show recounts the events of an evening where Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis met at a studio where they had their musical roots and jammed together.
The show was extremely entertaining, moving, exciting, and generally hand-clapping-foot-stompingly good!
The best bit?
Getting to see the smile on my dad's face before, during and after the show. He is Elvis MAD! (And Johnny Cash mad for that matter... too, too sweet!)

x

*Okay, it may not be the best show EVER... But it was on the 23rd of September 2011 as it was the one I was watching ;-)

Arty Schmarty

On the subject of Art - I have the pleasure of announcing that I have stumbled upon Peter Blake...

What you can't really see in these images is his use of "diamond dust" - a kind of super-glitter! It's cool and it sparkles - my kinda art really!!!
Must. Own. Some.

Spineless...

While walking in Chiswick the other day - I came across these:

Imagine - a whole book written on one page!!! (Well, a really large page...) Check out http://www.spinelessclassics.com/ for more details. Mah-vellous!

Greenwich Market - Excitement!

Well - it looks like my plans of staying in bed reading and/or eating chocolate all weekend have been foiled by #1's marvellous girlfriend who is dragging me with them to Greenwich market tomorrow.
The weather forecast is looking bright and cheery - so it looks like the perfect day to go and explore! The market is famed for many of the vintage and collectable items. For a sneak peak at the trader's wares visit http://www.greenwich-market.co.uk/
I love the "look" of vintage/retro clothing and jewellery; but when it comes down to it, it's basically secondhand, innit?? It brings up a whole lot of ethical questions, like:
If someone didn't like it enough to keep it; should you really like it?
Alternatively; is secondhand a.k.a vintage/retro stuff a bit like "blood diamonds" in the sense that someone had to die (sometimes in their sleep!!!!) so that you could own it?
Hmmmmmm...

You know I'm kidding right ;-) Right?
